Godspell
Timber Lake Playhouse | 2026
My approach to Godspell was built around the biblical prophecy in the book of Isaiah stating that the way of Lord will be paved in the wilderness: But what if he who was paving the way... found Jesus had already arrived? It was my mission to create a visually distinct world for the show to live in with an aesthetic vocabulary accessible to the rural communities of Mount Carroll, Illinois. From there I focused on stage images, using 10 bodies to tell stories- deviating from the colloquial, Saturday-Night-Live-style humor expected of a modern Godspell and bringing forth, rather, a true kinetic ensemble comedy with physical slapstick and razor sharp timing, culminating in the powerful story of Jesus' ultimate crucifixion.
